Robotec on tour: Putting into operation in Shenzhen, China
On behalf of a medtech manufacturing company, we have implemented an injection moulding automation system in a cleanroom at its site in Shenzhen, China. Our software engineer Roman Müller was on site as project manager and accompanied the successful commissioning.
Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturing companies for electronic and medtech components. It also produces injection molded parts for medical applications, including at their Shenzhen site in China. We developed an automation solution for injection molding production in the cleanroom, which we completed in Switzerland and put into operation for testing purposes.
Two weeks on site
Our software engineer Roman Müller accompanied the relocation of the system to its final location in Shenzhen, China. He spent around two weeks on site and worked with the local team to set up and commission the system – including regular training in eating with chopsticks ;-)
Thousands of parts per day
The injection molding machine produces in 3-shift operation in a class 8 clean room. Parts are removed from the injection molding machine tool at short intervals and transferred to our automation system. The robot then stacks the parts in stacks of 24 and palletizes them in special transport trolleys. In this way, several thousands parts are produced per day.
Successful SAT
Thanks to optimum preparation and smooth teamwork on site, everything worked perfectly. A successful SAT (Site Acceptance Test) was the crowning glory of the project and has now heralded the start of production.
