Industrial robot on travel axis networks CNC machines
An industrial robot on a linear travel axis network several CNC milling machines at the millhouse dental technology center. The interaction of all machines minimizes production time. The process is coordinated by an intelligent master control system.
The challenge
Millhouse near Frankfurt am Main is a technology center for the dental industry. This innovative company manufactures semi-finished products for dental laboratories in the desired materials and indications. Scanner systems in dental practices digitize the dental moulds, which are then converted into complex shapes and colors by a dental laboratory using individual CAD parts.
A CAD-CAM system creates milling programs according to which high-precision milling machines manufacture dental implants. The challenge now was to network the HSC milling machines and CNC machine cleaning stations. A task that had to be solved not only functionally, but also aesthetically.
The solution
A 6-axis robot on a linear travel axis links the high-precision HSC milling machines. The specially developed linear rail, manufactured in-house by Robotec Solutions, extends the robot's working range. The cells with robot, zero-point clamping pallets and magazines - controlled by an intelligent master control system - run unmanned for up to 48 hours.
The robot supplies the machines with blanks and removes the finished parts from the machines once the production processes are complete. A smiling customer thus receives their new dentures in the shortest possible time and with a lifetime guarantee - and thanks to data consistency, guaranteed in the right design, shape and dimensions.
